Amy is a warm, compassionate, and approachable counseling intern completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand Canyon University. She has spent many years working with local youth and individuals with special needs, which has fueled her passion for supporting clients through life’s challenges.
Amy believes that growth and healing are possible when clients feel understood and supported, and she brings patience, encouragement, and hope to every counseling relationship. She approaches therapy through a collaborative, client-centered lens, integrating strategies from CBT, person-centered therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques to help clients build insight, resilience, and practical tools for personal growth.
Outside of her clinical work, Amy enjoys exploring the mountains near her home, traveling and experiencing different cultures, and spending quality time with her husband, their children, and granddaughter. She loves horse riding, snow skiing, gardening, walking her dog Birdie, reading, chips and salsa, and connecting with family and friends.Adolescents, Anxiety, Body Image, Communication, Depression, Faith Based Counseling, Health Issues, Interpersonal/Relationship Issues, Life Adjustments, Parenting, Self-Esteem/Confidence, Stress Management, Women's Issues, Young Adults
