DIANA POWELL, CSW-I
I position myself as a fellow traveler on the therapeutic journey as I seek to assist my clients in finding greater purpose, healing, and growth. I believe that honesty, empathy, humor, and hope are essential qualities in an effective therapeutic relationship. As your therapist, I will collaborate with you to identify paths to increased peace and meaningful self-discovery based in your personal values. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, exercising, spending time with my cats, and curating playlists for all moods and occasions.
Diana is a Masters-level clinician completing her Social Work degree at the University of Utah. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2016. Diana has experience working with numerous aspects of community mental health, juvenile corrections, substance abuse, and suicide prevention. Her professional background has allowed her to develop skills in working with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, faith issues, and identity exploration. During her time as a Prevention Specialist with Wasatch Mental Health, she worked directly with adolescents, families, and local leaders in school and community settings. Most recently, she completed an internship with the Utah Pride Center as an individual and group therapist for adults and adolescents.

Diana is invested in helping her clients navigate the many complexities and sufferings inherent in the human experience, empowering them to effect change in their lives long after therapy has ended. She strives to cultivate a trusting and supportive environment where clients are seen and heard for who they are. She believes that each person possesses unique strengths and boundless resilience. As such, she is committed to helping her clients realize their capacity to create more fulfilling lives and develop the tools to thrive, even in the presence of personal and societal obstacles. Diana takes a trauma-informed, comprehensive approach to wellness, utilizing a variety of interventions to best suit individual needs and goals. She is devoted to her own continual learning and personal growth to better ensure clients receive the quality care they deserve.

Diana greatly enjoys working with the LGBTQ+ community and is a member of the LGBTQ+ Affirmative Therapists Guild of Utah. She is currently assisting with several research projects related to sexual orientation and gender identity at the University of Utah.
