Brian Pulsipher EMDR Therapist
"Mental health is not about fixing people. It is about supporting people at their pace as they (1) identify and process their feelings and emotions, (2) develop an increased awareness of what healing may look like, and (3) learn how to engage in the healing process proactively and logically.
Healing is a process, not a destination. Safety is often the first step in that process and, if consistent, can lead to healthy trust, connection, reparation, boundaries, and values. In a society where instant gratification is a default value and mental health is consequently misunderstood, I offer patience and listening ears to understand people from their perspective and vocabulary to support the logical processing of feelings and emotions.
I believe that understanding how the brain works and why is key in learning how to live in the present so that the past can be understood and built upon proactively, and future-based anxieties harnessed and unraveled. I have found that guiding people toward a balanced, intentional sense of self, well-being, and understanding of him/her/themselves is a milestone that no paycheck can compensate."
