THE FOLLOWING LEARNING OBJECTIVES WERE ACHIEVED:
1. Identify ways in which a person’s nervous system develops in response to a traumatic or unhealthy environment to protect and survive.
2. Develop skills and utilize specific instruments to identify and measure the types and severity of the dissociative dynamic within a client’s nervous system.
3. Identify five common road blocks to stabilization and reprocessing and how to successfully “dance” with those road blocks in order to regulate the nervous system while also accessing the information needed for successful History Taking.
4. Demonstrate five skills to help a client to develop a strong foundation for coping and stabilizing both in and out of session and to prepare for the reprocessing phases of EMDR Therapy, including attention to how cultural dynamics can play a role in the Preparation Phase.
5. Learn to formulate a comprehensive and manageable “road map” to treating complex memory networks and dissociative dynamics within a client.
