Clinical Therapist

Must show solid ability to:

1.     Counsel individuals or groups regarding psychological or emotional problems such as stress, anxiety, depression and addiction; anger and violence issues; family situations; and post-traumatic stress.

2.     Demonstrate psycho-social assessment, treatment planning, advocacy skills and case management skills.

3.     Possess excellent written, interpersonal and oral communication skills.

4.     Show creativity/flexibility on delivery of services.

5.     Function on an interdisciplinary treatment team.

6.     Demonstrate an understanding, sensitivity and ability to serving a culturally diverse population.

 

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

1.     Comply with State of Utah code of ethics and HIPPA policies and procedures.

2.     Consult with clinical director, program director and other senior-level staff on the client treatment team.

3.     Conduct initial evaluation and client intake interviews; assess client’s presenting problems and formulate diagnosis.

4.     Develop, implement and modify, as necessary, client treatment plans.

5.     Carry out case management services related to client’s treatment

6.     Maintain an active caseload, providing individual, group, family, marital, child, and adjunctive therapies as needed and within area of expertise and limits of credentials; assure procurement of additional services as needed.

7.     Complete all required written and computer-based documentation on client and group progress in a timely manner.

 

Education and Experience

1.     Masters degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field is required.

2.     Licensed in the State of Utah as a Social Worker, Professional Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist.

3.     Preference given to candidates with experience in drug, alcohol, and/or domestic violence counseling.

4.     Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.

5.     Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications; and keyboard skills.

6.     Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
